How to tether the α7C

    Connect your α7C

    Connect over USB with the camera in PC Remote mode for a stable, high-speed tether. Or tether over Wi-Fi. Note: in PC Remote, some Sony bodies route captures to the buffer rather than the card — both work with CloudTether.

    Create a session & pick destinations

    Open CloudTether on your phone, start a session, and choose where the photos should land — one destination on Free, several on Pro.

    Shoot as normal

    Every frame your α7C captures is detected and downloaded at full resolution — JPEG, or ARW RAW on Pro — while you keep shooting.

    Photos deliver automatically

    Each photo uploads from your phone once and fans out to every destination on the session — no duplicate uploads, no waiting until you're home.

Does CloudTether support ARW RAW files from the α7C?

Yes — on the Pro plan CloudTether ingests ARW RAW alongside JPEG. The Free plan handles JPEG at original resolution.

Do I need Wi-Fi at the venue to use the α7C with CloudTether?

No. Your phone's mobile data handles the upload, so you're covered anywhere you have cellular signal — the camera-to-phone link is USB or the camera's own Wi-Fi.

Where do my α7C photos go?

Wherever you choose: Dropbox, Google Drive, SmugMug, ShootProof, an FTP/SFTP server and more — or straight to your phone's photo library in local mode.
