CloudTether app changelog

What changed in each version of the CloudTether app for iPhone, iPad and Android. Your version is in More › Settings › About. Coming from the 1.0 app? See what's new in 1.1.

Version 1.1.5

November 2026On its way to the App Store and Google Play

Steadier connections, especially on USB and on a camera's own Wi-Fi.

Fixes and improvements

  • USB connections stay up while the app is busy with the camera — for example while “Import from camera” checks a full card. The app no longer mistakes a busy camera for one that has gone to sleep.
  • Screens stay quick while your phone is on a camera's own Wi-Fi network: the app stops trying to reach the internet over a network that has none, and uses what it already knows.
  • Sony cameras: cleaner handling when the camera disconnects.
  • General stability and reliability improvements.

Version 1.1.4

November 2026

New

  • Live view on Canon cameras over Wi-Fi, not just USB (camera sheet → Live view).
  • Get help in one tap: chat with us from More, from Help, and from the screens where people most often get stuck.

Fixes and improvements

  • Photos tagged with your location keep the camera's full original quality: tagging no longer recompresses the JPEG.
  • Better on weak or patchy mobile networks.
  • General stability and reliability improvements.

Version 1.1.1 – 1.1.3

October 2026

New

  • Remote shutter on Nikon, Sony and Fujifilm cameras, not just Canon (camera sheet → Remote).

Fixes and improvements

  • Fixed a rare crash when the app was in the background during a USB shoot, most often on iPad.
  • General stability and reliability improvements.

Version 1.1.0

October 2026

A cleaner, simpler CloudTether. Your shoots, destinations and settings all carried over — sessions are now called shoots.

New

  • Pick where shots go when a camera connects.
  • Send only the shots you rate in camera (Canon and Nikon).
  • Deliver straight to your own FTP or SFTP server.
  • Choose what each destination gets: JPEGs only, smaller sizes.
  • Transfer JPEGs only and leave RAW files on the camera.
  • Sharper smaller JPEGs, with custom size and quality.
  • Thumbnails for each shoot in History, and sharper previews with zoom.
  • Open where shots went in Dropbox, Drive, OneDrive or Box, or browse your FTP/SFTP folder.
  • Pocket mode: a dark screen while you tether.
