Can I send photos to my client's SmugMug or ShootProof gallery during the shoot?

The problem

Clients and event guests buy photos when the moment is fresh. If the gallery only fills the next day, a lot of that interest has gone, and the photographer still has an evening of uploading ahead.

The short answer

Connect your camera to your phone with CloudTether by USB cable or Wi-Fi, sign in to SmugMug or ShootProof once, and pick the gallery (SmugMug) or the event or one of its albums (ShootProof). Every JPEG you shoot is uploaded there seconds later. The gallery's own privacy, sharing and selling settings stay as you set them.

RAW and video

SmugMug and ShootProof take JPEGs, so shoot RAW+JPEG: the JPEGs go to the gallery and the RAW files can go to Dropbox, Google Drive or your own server from the same shoot.

Several photographers, one gallery

Each photographer runs CloudTether on their own phone and points it at the same gallery or event. Distinct camera file-name prefixes keep the files apart.

FAQ

Does CloudTether create the gallery?

No. You create the gallery or event in SmugMug or ShootProof as usual and pick it in CloudTether; the photos land in it.

Can I also keep a backup copy?

Yes. Add a second destination, such as Dropbox or Google Drive, and every shot goes to both.

Solve it with CloudTether

Tether your camera to your phone over USB or Wi-Fi and deliver every shot to the cloud, live as you shoot — no laptop.
