Wireless tethering

Wireless tethering connects a camera to another device over Wi-Fi rather than a cable, so photos transfer in real time without a physical connection.

Wireless tethering uses the camera's Wi-Fi (over PTP/IP) to create the same live link as a USB cable, freeing the photographer to move around — useful for weddings, events and anywhere a cable would get in the way.

It's typically a little slower and more sensitive to interference than wired USB, but for many shoots the freedom of movement is worth the trade. Most modern mirrorless and DSLR bodies support it.
